Server features
- A new activation option for Android devices was implemented. It replaces the “old” SMS activation method where the activation data was sent in the SMS content. This new option supports using a one-time activation code that must be entered in the MDM client after installation.
- The enrollment text can be defined in Settings > Messages
Note: The messages in settings will be overwritten as announced in our newsletter in March. - The email activation also supports this new activation code method.
Please note: This method is only supported for devices running Android version lower than 10 and Work Profile enrollment.

- MDM system time zone settings have been implemented.
- Device Owner devices and work profiles can now be re-assigned to the same user they were activated initially. Please note: Moving these devices to any other users is not supported due to technical restrictions.
- An option for installation the of APK files, directly via MDM system for DO and Work Profiles from several sources, has been implemented.
Minor adaptions
- The Google EMM queue has been optimized.
- The newer version available condition has been optimized.
- The process for re-enrolling Android Enterprise devices has been improved.
- Apple system applications were adapted.
- Filters in the Apple VPP menu were improved.
- The mapping in the Azure AD synchronization was improved. The user principal name is now used for MDM’s value user id.
Fixes
Customer tickets
- Customer ticket 833: “Command format error” when sending unlock command
- Customer ticket 846: Phone book is not sent to device
- Customer ticket 917: iOS inventory is not shown correctly after enrollment
- Customer ticket 957: Issues with Samsung Kiosk Mode
- Customer ticket 980: 7P MDM Client throws error message – 403 forbidden
- Customer ticket 990: Selected group is not saved when a user is created.
- Customer ticket 1042: An issue with “Newer version available” in operations has been fixed
- Customer ticket 1062: Report view does not work correctly.
Other issues
- Read-only administrators could access and edit the managed Google Play editor.
- In case GPS tracking was activated on iOS devices and the device was moved to the device pool, the GPS data was not affected by the “remove all data” action.
- The Android Enterprise report showed wrong information.
- Sending mobile APN to Device Owner devices failed in some cases.
- In some cases, the Apple DEP synchronization did not update the devices correctly.
- An issue in several iOS configuration parameters was fixed.
- An issue was fixed in the creation and update of administrators.
- APK files from external sources were not available in single device actions.
- App category lists for applications were not updated if the tenant was switched.
- The synchronization with Azure AD did not work correctly.
- Minor fixes and adaptations (layout, performance, and localization) have also been performed.
