7P Mobile Device Management – Server
Version 5.48.xx / 6.03.xx
Important notes
MDM 5 (old user interface) is deprecated
The old user interface shows a pop-up message, that this version is deprecated. Please use the new user interface
to get all new features and bug fixes. MDM 5.48 (this release) is the last MDM 5 user interface. It will be removed
with the next release.
Android 11
This version of the MDM system is supporting devices running Android 11 and above. To get the full support both
new server and client versions are required.
Google Cloud Messaging
Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) is deprecated and only works with 7P MDM Android clients older 5.38. We highly
recommend updating older clients and switching to Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). If you are a using an MDM
system in our cloud, this change has been already made by our team. So, there is no need for an action on your
side.
If you are running an on-premise system, please switch to FCM. Feel free to contact our support team if you have
any questions.
Features
Server features
- A new feature has been implemented which allows to enforce the update mode for Managed Google Play
Store applications. - The user / device import via CSV has been improved. Several data fields are now checked for correct
value format. - A new option for user authentication has been implemented for the Apple DEP activation. Users can enter
their credentials in the remote configuration screen directly. - A new parameter “disable MAC address randomization” has been added to the “Access Point”
configuration for devices running iOS 14 and above. - For supervised iOS devices a new feature has been added for the lost mode. It provides an option to play
a sound so that the iOS device can be found in case it has been lost. - An option has been implemented which provides the capability to enroll the Work Profile only during KME
or zero-touch enrollment. - Several improvements in Azure AD group synchronisation and handling have been made.
- A new condition “is shared iPad” has been implemented.
- Android 11 features:
- Enrollment
- Enhanced wipe function for Work Profile on corporate owned devices.
- The list of installed applications has been improved:
- Filter and search function have been added
- Sorting has been added
- Background colours presentation has been improved.
Minor adaptions
- To avoid issue in iOS device management the iOS Apple push certificate can only be uploaded on global
level. An upload on tenant level is not supported anymore. - Some minor improvements in the Android Enterprise enable / disable application feature have been made.
- The “wallpaper” configuration has been removed from the condition: “configuration is / is not installed”.
This was done because wallpapers are not sent as configurations itself, but as actions, which do not
provide an option to remove them again. - Save buttons cannot be used during a running upload process.
