7P Mobile Device Management – Client
Version 5.44.00

Important notes

Android 10 devices enrolled via Device Admin mode will be rejected by this client. The combination of Android 10 and
Device Admin enrollment method is – as announced – not supported anymore from Google side, as it leads to issues in
device management. In case you have any questions regarding this topic, please contact the MDM support.

Features

  • A new activation option for Android devices was implemented. It replaces the “old” SMS activation method where
the activation data was sent in the SMS content. This new option supports using a one-time activation code that
must be entered in the MDM client after installation.
    • The enrollment text can be defined on the server in Settings > Messages
Note: The messages in settings will be overwritten as announced in our newsletter in March.
    • The email activation also supports this new activation code method.
Please note: This method is only supported for devices running Android version lower than 10 and Work Profile
      enrollment.
  • Improvements in the general Android 10 support have been made.
  • Improvements in the background execution of commands have been made.
  • The location tracking functionality has been improved.
  • Some implementations have been made which were necessary to support the 7P VPN client based on
    OpenConnect

Fixes

  • Some Knox Standard features failed for the Android Work Profile.
  • Under specific circumstances, the client could crash. This has now been fixed.
  • The required client permissions could not be activated correctly on some Nokia devices if they were enrolled in
    in Device Owner mode.
  • Sometimes the client was deactivated when a Device Owner device was rebooted.
  • Information about installed certificates were not correctly sent to the server. As a result, the “uninstall certificate”
command did not show any certificates.
  • In some cases, the activation via QR code did not work correctly on Android 10.
  • The auto lock configuration did not work on Nokia devices.
  • Conditional configuration did not work as expected.
  • IMAP and POP3 email configurations did not work correctly.
  • Several minor fixes in the APN configuration for the device and the work profile have been made.
